Combining Elegance and Functionality

The inspiration for this design came from the desire to break away from the traditional four-legged furniture and create a more concise and stable structure. By utilizing the stability of three points and the anti-corrosion properties of steel, Leisure Furniture stands out as a modern and elegant addition to any space. The designers have also incorporated walnut wood for added sophistication.

What sets Leisure Furniture apart is its combination of steel and soft-packing technology. The steel frame features a three-footed pattern and hook-and-fold connection, resulting in a visually appealing design with smooth lines. The entire set of furniture is connected through welding and hook connections, ensuring both beauty and structural functionality.

The realization of Leisure Furniture involves a combination of CNC milling, welding, tailoring, and weaving techniques. The steel frame is meticulously crafted through CNC milling and welding, while the chair back and sitting part are integrated with soft-packing technology. The bending pattern of the steel and chair back is carefully controlled to ensure comfort and functionality.

Leisure Furniture is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. The set consists of a chair, side table, and ornamental vase. Users can comfortably sit in the chair to read, enjoy a cup of tea, or work on their computer. The side table provides a convenient surface for various activities, while the ornamental vase can be used to cultivate aquatic plants or display dried flower decorations.

The design project for Leisure Furniture started in Shenyang in September 2017 and was completed in January 2018. It was later exhibited at the Art Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang in June 2018. Throughout the design process, the team faced challenges such as bending the steel frame at the proper angle and ensuring strong connections between different parts of the furniture.

Leisure Furniture has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2018. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for its integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing both fulfillment and positive feelings to users.
